Grandstand to Be Extended While the rustic shingle motif will be retained in the big expansion program at Delaware Park, the basic construction of the new 242-foot extension to the grandstand will be of steel and concrete. William duPont, Jr., the original builder of Delaware Park, sought to imitate the charm of Saratoga. Delaware Park has ample acreage behind and around the grandstand with hundreds of trees and acres of grass, all of which are reminiscent of Saratoga.
