G., forwardly placed along the inside, was eased back on the final turn and, steered to the outside, rallied to take command and outfinished ANOTHER BEL. The latter was hustled into command before a quarter mile, stayed down on the inside to save ground and just missed. FLY PIGEON worked her way up between horses to finish well. JOLLY GREMLIN closed stoutly under late pressure. HOWDY ROWDY, outrun to the final furlong, passed tiring horses. SMART EVE, well placed along the inside, failed to rally when roused. BOYISH LOVE flattened out in the late stages. GALLANT DOT had no mishap. NEAT KEE flashed brief speed. IRISH COUNT quit The others were outrun. Scratched— 73322 Fox Man, 110; 73292 Cross Lu, 103. GOLDEN GINO broke alertly, was steadied while remaining between the leaders, rallied when straightened for the drive, assumed command and drew out steadily. URANIUM, never far off the leaders, came to the outside on the final turn, then drew abreast the leader, but was not good enough. NIGHT CRAWLER moved readily on the far turn, entered contention before being straightened for the drive, then tried to bear in hampering the rider. HENRY PAYNE showed good speed, set the pace under pressure and weakened in the late stages. VALDINA PERION went evenly. TASCOSA flashed brief early speed. OFF AT 3:03 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. PEERLESS was kept close to the leader under light urging, moved readily on the outside to challenge for command entering the stretch and had to be hard ridden to outfinish SHIFTING HIGH. The latter opened a clear lead after a quarter mile, remained close to the inside on the turns, then finished with good energy. GOLDFIELD worked his way up steadily on the outside, was sent to the inside entering the stretch and was catching the leaders at the end. WHITE HAWK, slow to settle in best stride, failed to rally when put to a drive. ABRA weakened after forcing the pace. FIVE DAYS passed tiring horses. GLOAM was unable to reach serious contention. MAXMAR disposed of ALANAY after a half, drew clear under pressure to secure the lead, then was kept under light urging to the end. FOXY SCOT, a forward factor under light restraint, rallied mildly when put to pressure, but was not good enough. ALANAY, sent up on the outside early to take command, held on wel latter relinquishing command. WHAT NIGHT, confidently ridden and losing ground on the turns, failed to respond when roused. KNIGHTS CROSS sprinted into command at once, was allowed to increase margin for a half mile, then was taken under restraint to the final furlong, responded when urged and held COVERT SIDE safe. The latter, in close attendance throughout, moved willingly along the inside, then tired nearing the end. LOOT closed well under pressure. SEERSUCKER passed tiring horses. RIVER PILOT went evenly. FLYING MILE improved position steadily to come through on the inside entering the stretch, moved to the outside of the leader and rallied under steady pressure to outfinish GROUND FOG. The latter assumed command after a half, drew clear when set down, saved ground and held on gamely to the end. GAMS, well up throughout, was given a breather on the far turn, then came again in the final sixteenth. SNOW WHIRL, kept on the inside after a half, failed to rally when roused. ORANGE SUN was sent along at a fast clip to set the early pace, held on well to the final furlong, then weakened. MARCH CHICK was unable to make up ground when put to a drive. CRISIS, well handled while improving position along the inside, slipped through on the final turn to enter contention, rallied under stout pressure and was up in the final sixteenth to outfinish TOM FERRIS. The latter, forwardly placed under light restraint, was sent through on the inside to take command as the leaders entered the stretch, then continued gamely under steady urging. JOANS ROBIN was steadied after gaining the lead, saved ground while turning back repeated bids from QUATREFOIL, then weakened under late challenges. QUATREFOIL showed a good effort. MINUTES, in close quarters most of the way, flattened out when clear. VARODI. well up on the outside, raced wide when nearing the far turn, then went evenly. DEVIL DUST was outrun. SUNSPARK improved position steadily on the extreme outside, responded to late pressure and was up in the final strides to outfinish RIVER BREEZE. The latter was well placed to the far turn, responded when sent up on the outside and caught PAL CROSS inside the final sixteenth, then faltered. PAL CROSS assumed command at once, was steadied along the inside, held on well to late stages, then tired. CUNNING was in close quarters soon after the start, worked his way through and finished with good energy. MON TORCH passed tiring horses. TIGHT GRIP was used up forcing the pace. GYPSY LEA failed to reach serious contention. LUCKY D00 weakened after six furlongs FIRST - MATE was bothered at the start as BEN DEHAVEN broke to the outside.
