TIGER FLASH wrested command from the inside soon after leaving the backstretch, disposed of SIR GORHILL in the early stretch and, under increased pressure, held BOLD REGARD safe. The iatter, steadied along to the last quarter, found racing room between horses when set aown for the drive and finished full of run. SIR GORHILL broke alertly, raced on the outside much of the way and weakened under punishment in the stretch. GOLF CLUB made a mild rally in the late stages. SPEEDING HOME was practically left at the start and lost all chance. PHEECIA showed a dull effort. Scratched— 71914 Willeo, 121; 73204 Shockoe, 111. Overweight— Golf Club, 1 pound. REYNOLDS JR. followed in close attendance to the early pace, moved up fast after a half mile on the outside, responded readily to increased pressure through the streich to wear down PROMOTION in the closing strides. The latter was never far back, assumed command on the inside rounding the stretch turn, but could not last. MILTON BEERE had no mishap in an even effort. POTATO CAKE, eased out of possible close quarters soon after the break, was steadied to the last quarter and, while improving her racing position, never seriously menaced the top ones. RABLIM tired from her early effort. VI NCETTE was never a factor. M. LUCK OUT raced very wide on the first turn. INACCESSIBLE was brought to the extreme outside rounding the stretch turn and, under strong handling, moved willingly to the pacemakers to be best in a hard drive. JOLIRAB was rushed into a contending position on the outside leaving the backstretch, displaced SCOTCH JEWEL in the early stretch and just failed to last. The latter had speed, saved ground in the late stages and held on stubbornly. EVANS MOUNTAIN saved ground in an even effort. McGILL failed to rally when roused for the drive. LA RIMDA outsprinted her opposition from the start, swerved to the inside while drawing out rounding the turn and won with something in reserve. ROCKLYE, allowed to drop far back in the run down the backstretch, raced on the outside while improving her position on the stretch turn and, while no match for the winner, appeared best of the others. LITTLE SAINT could not gain on the top pair when roused for the drive. DARK DAZZLER showed good speed for a half and tired. SHES GOT IT was through early. SPRIGHTLY was always far back. The latter was wisely brought to the, 2 inside rounding the turn, rallied under extreme pressure for the drive and was getting to the winner at the end. * SUMMER SUN moved up boldly between horses on the stretch turn, but was not good enough to reach the top -n pair. IMPUDENCE was carried very wide on the stretch turn and failed to rally when roused. MIKE LOWY ?o tired from his early efforts. BUT WHY NOT forced the pace in hand, raced on the outside much of the way, responded readily to pressure when set down for the drive, wore down ALLIES PAL inside the last eighth and quickly drew out. The latter made the pace under good rating, saved ground throughout and gave way readily when challenged in the late stages. CONNIVER broke slowly and was under snug restraint to the second turn, came to the outside on the stretch turn to make up ground fast through the stretch, but was not good enough. MOTHER, also slow to settle into her best stride, made up some ground in the late stages. SPATS broke in the air. PADDLEDUCK was never a factor. MISS DISCO gave way steadily after a half. LORD PATHMATE, held in reserve to the final half, moved up boldly under mild urging to take command nearing the last quarter, responded readily to increased pressure in the drive and gradually drew out. THE GLOBE, taken up repeatedly while racing on the inside to the second turn, came between horses when set down for the drive and made a bold bid in the late stages. ESCROW forced the early pace in hand, saved ground much of the way, made a bold bid nearing the last eighth, but faltered under a sustained drive. MARK HIGH broke alertly, quickly drew into a long lead while being hard held in the run down the backstretch and had nothing left when the real racing began. EVAS TOY was outrun. JACOPADES, slow to settle into stride, was hard held to the last quarter, circled his field while rallying for the drive, impeded ORPHAN FIBBER nearing the last eighth, but was best in a hard drive and was disqualified for interference and placed out of the money. The latter also was hard held while racing far back until the last quarter, also circled his field when making his bid, suffered interference nearing the last eighth and narrowly missed.
