Bill Would Limit Running Races to Evening Hours SPRINGFIELD, 111., May 5.— If a bill introduced in the Assembly yesterday by Rep. Joseph Kohout becomes law, horse racing in Illinois would be limited to the evening hours, from 6 pm. until midnight, with the sport banned during the regular daylight hours. According to the present statutes, running races are limited to between 12 noon and 7 p. m. The harness tracks now operate on night schedules. Meanwhile a Senate committee reported favorably a dog racing bill recently introduced by Sen. Arthur E. Larson and Sen. Stanley J. Mondala. Their measure would permit pari-mu-tuel wagering at dog tracks. Dog racing was outlawed in Illinois by a court decision several years ago.
