To Discuss Purses Later SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., May 5. — A buffet supper and informal meeting of the New England division of the HBPA was held last evening in the clubhouse at Suffolk Downs. The affair, attended by the majority of the local organization, was considered a great success and, after hearing from the committee that met with Suffolk Downs officials, it was agreed to dismiss any request for purse increases for another week of racing. The Suffolk Downs management and officers of the HBPA plan to meet after the local track has completed a week of racing.
