Delaware Park Wide Course Delaware Park race course is one of the widest in America, with the front and back stretches each measuring 100 feet. Races over the flat course are run at 12 various distances, beginning at four and a half furlongs up to two miles and 70 yards. Delaware Park, which reopens May 28, has made a success of two distance features, the Montchanin and Kiamensi Handicaps, each of which is run at several distances, with the emphasis on endurance.
