Fiye Massachusetts Hunts Clubs Form Association SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., May 26.— Representatives of the five recognized Massachusetts hunt clubs, Myopia, Quansett, Norfolk, Groton and Millwood Hunts, met at Suffolk Downs today and organized the Bay State United Hunts Association. Frederic Winthrop, master at Myopia, was elected president of the new hunts association and William C. McGuckin, master of Groton; Mrs.Sherwin C. Badger, master of Norfolk, and Mrs. Henry S. Hall, "Jr.* master of Millwood, were elected vice-presidents. Following the organization meeting, the newly elected officers met with judge John C. Pappas, president of Suffolk Downs and discussed the desirability of the Boston track offering a series of hurdle races on the infield turf course during the first two weeks of the summer meeting, which will be conducted July 11 through August 14. Judge Pappas advised the of f icers of the Bay State United Hunts Association that Suffolk Downs would do everything possible to encourage hurdle racing, that he enthusiastically was behind any project for building up the sport in New England that they 1 might propose and that Suffolk Downs gladly would schedule a series of races at the summer meeting. Details of the hurdle racing will be worked out and announced later.
