J. MURPHY Staff Correspondent SPORTSMANS PARK, Cicero, 111., May 11.— The ,000 Sportsmans Park Handi- cap, most liberally endowed race of the meeting, will be the stellar attraction at this West Side course on the final Satur- day of the meeting. A field of nine will journey one and one -sixteenth miles in this event, with John Wolfs Lucky Codine, gen- erally regarded as one of the best horses on the grounds, in quest of his second success in four starts here. In his previous winning venture, the son of Porteodine defeated False by a head, but the latter turned the tables in the last meeting between the pair in finishing two heads in advance of his rival. False will also be in Saturdays field. Pair to Attract Most Attention While. Lucky Codine and False will likely lure the greater amount of currency through the ticket wickets, several others in the handicap field will not be completely neglected. Murray Hill Farms Boo Boo Shoo, who was favored over Lucky Codine and False last out, always has a fair quota of supporters, and A. E. Harpers Battle H indicated that he was rounding to form by a recent clever victory at the route distance. M. Creechs Kosadus was unplaced in the Chicago Handicap, won by False; while W. S. Clines Gus G. and P.J. Valentis Caillou Rouge have yet to flash their best form here. A pair of allowance races, one at seven furlongs, and the other at five-eighths, will be the chief supporting races to the ,000 handicap. The shorter of the events will be known as the Miss Brilliant and will engage Greytown, the probable favorite; as well as Richavoo, Connies Boy, Hold the Dice, Reticule and others. The seven-furlong contest will have Open Way, Inky Racer and Will You Dance among the eight contestants. There seems to be little chance of the track being in good condition for week-end racing. Well over three inches of rain has fallen in this area in the past 36 hours and the skies remain overcast.
