[ I I t j * J * " r " r z * £ A P c b a a * * S New England Turf Writers Hold Election of Officers SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass. May 11. — The annual election of officers of the New England Turf Writers was held last night at Dinty Moores in Boston, following a dinner for the membership. All incumbent officers were returned to office for one year. Gerry Sullivan, of the Herald-Traveler, is president; Billy Ames, of Nar-rangansett Park, is vice-president, and John Aborn, of the Providence Journal, was re-elected secretary-treasurer. New members accepted into the organization include Oscar Otis of Daily Racing Form, Ed Sullivan, publicity director of Suffolk Downs, and Eli Chiat, of the Boston American. Mickey Brooks, custodian of the press box on the New England and Florida circuit, was accepted as an honorary member of the organization. Announcement of definite date to hold the annual turf writers dinner will be made in conjunction with the date of the impending Narragan-sett Special.
