FIERY, a trailer early, improved her position boldly after a half mile, wrested command in the late stretch and withstood the late challenge of BLAZING POMP. The latter was far back early, moved behind FIERY and was rapidly wearing down that one M the final strides. QUEEN MAY, unhurried early, assumed command entering the stretch and weakened. SMARTY-ARTY rallied to midstretch and hung. CAPRIOLE was used up pressing the pace. ROY 0. was through early. HAPPY COUNT set the pace to the stretch and flattened out badly. HAZARD OAKS, within striking distance early, lacked a rally when set down. RAPT faltered when outrun for the lead. BALD HILL BOY showed nothing. JIMMY GIBBONS had brief speed, as did MISS SHILOH. JOE CREAM showed speed from the beginning, but was not good enough. GALA BLENHEIM failed to seriously menace the top ones. SWINGALICK caught tired horses. HIGH I. Q. rallied too late. LONE FISHERMAN, within striking distance and fencing well while being reserved for more than a mile, moved boldly when roused, wrested command along the backstretch the last time and drew clear steadily to be an easy winner. WHATTA KNIGHT, well clear of the field early, held sway for more than a mile and a half, but was no match. EXTRA POINTS improved his position nicely when urged after a mile and a half, then weakened after the final fence. PORT RAIDER raced evenly, despite a bad landing at the twelfth fence. GENANCOKE faltered after racing in contention for a mile and a half. KIPPER could not remain prominent. ADAPTABLE trailed. GOOD MARKS fell at the twelfth jump. EASTER MORN, unhurried while the first four horses dueled for supremacy, moved through along the inside to engage the top ones, then drew clear under intermittent pressure. MARENGO raced with the pace into the stretch and finished beyond the center of the track, while drifting out badly, for which he was disqualified and placed third. MARYLAND DAY was forced to race wide while wjth the leaders, was deterred when MARENGO went out, then failed to make up ground and came back lame. EVELYN L. drove to the lead nearing the stretch and faltered. BALLA-DUKE held a slight lead along the inside leaving the backstretch and on the turn, then was unable to hold sway INCOMPARABLE was outdistanced. SEVENTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES.
