Fifty Maryland Breeders Have 85 Yearlings in Show BALTIMORE, Md., May 11.— Fifty Mary-I land breeders of thoroughbreds have entered a total of 85 yearlings in the 17th annual Pimlico yearling show to be held on the clubhouse lawn on the morning of Thursday, May 17, starting at 10 oclock. jOU P. Doherty, manager of Elmendorf Farm in Kentucky, will be the judge of this years show and as usual there also will be an amateur judging contest in which spectators match their choices against those of the official judge, with trophies for both the top male and top female selectors in the crowd. The States leading stallions will all be represented in the show. Occupy heads the list insofar as the number of his get on display for he will have 10 yearlings in the show, followed by his Sagamore Farm stud mate, Discovery with seven. Other prominent Maryland stallions whose get will be on hand include Ala-king, Lochinvar, Mr. Bones and Zayin. Breeders participating in the show include Mrs. George Brown, Jr., G. R. Bryson, Country Life Farm, Walter A. Edgar, Mrs. Robert H. Heighe, L. S. MacPhail. Danny Shea, C. E. Tuttle, A. G. Vanderbilt and Mrs. Irene Watson. Thursday of next week also will be marked by two other events, the Back Again Purse, limited to two-year-olds which were shown in last seasons yearling show and the Virginia Horsemens Association Purse. A delegation from the neighboring state will be on hand for this race.
