Empty Sea Scores Stunning Upset in Mud at Suffolk SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., May 11. — Double M Farms Empty Sea showed a distinct liking for the sea of mud at Suffolk Downs this afternoon and scored a stunning upset in the sixth event of a featureless program. A half length separated the winner and Heath Fire at the end of the six furlongs, with the fa vored Jetrcse a weary third. Showing a complete reversal of form, being beaten 21 lengths in his last essay, Empty Sea paid the handsome mutuel of 3,000. His time for the dash was 1 :13% over a track termed sloppy. A steady downpour whisked by a strong ! northeast wind made it a miserable after -j noon for the 8.826 patrons. It marked the I first rainy day of the current season and had the patrons installing supposed mud- ders as choices. Two of the selected fa-: vorites were successful.
