Alger Memorial Purse, a six furlongs sprint for three-year-olds and older, which attracted seven speedy performers, is to headline a well-balanced nine-race holiday program tomorrow at this ultra modern Michigan Racing Association plant. Along with the Alger, racing secretary Charles McLennan arranged some excellent supporting events and good sport is in store for Motor City patrons. Bully Boy, a four-year-old son of Bull Dog and Farmerette, a member of Mrs. Otto C. Neumanns The Farm Stable, heads the field for the Alger and he will go post-ward under 113 pounds. Bully Boy, clever victor inaugural day in the Anniversary Handicap; is to have the saddle services of capable Darrell Madden and the colt probably will answer "Boots and Saddles" the choice over his six rivals. Biddy Bid Has Light Impost Aligned against Bully Boy in the Alger will be such hard-hitting racers as White and Thomas stakes-winning Our Request, the high weight under the conditions at 117 pounds; Henry Forrests Traveler, 111, and Mr. and Mrs. James R. She also finished out 1950 with an impressive triumph in the Falls City Handicap at Churchill Downs. Biddy Bid, a sophomore daughter of Psychic Bid and Town Silver, began her three-year-old year in auspicious style, defeating Peat Stables Sun Tan Gal, Woodvale Farms Boot All, J. Howard Rouses Sho-goin, and Mrs. Emil Denemarks Lasting War, among others in the three-quarters mile Stoner Creek Purse at Keeneland, April 21. The Collins miss then finished third to Clarence Hartwicks Sickles Image and Greentree Stables Prioress Stakes winner, Ruddy, in the Nellie Morse at Lexington, turning in a commendable effort. After leading six fillies to the final furlong of the six and one-half furlongs Armed Forces Purse at Churchill Downs on May 19, Biddy Bid ran fourth to Calumet Farms Jennie Lee, Sickles Image, and Charlton Clays Lyceum. Alfred Monteiro is to have the mount on Donke Serenade in the Alger, Eddie Dan-hauer will be in the irons on Our Request arid Tommy Barrow, one of the top reins-men on hand this season, drew the saddle engagement on Suffki. Young Johnny Turner, who has successfully ridden Traveler on several occasions, probably will guide the Forrest star tomorrow while Lois C. Cook is named on Biddy Bid and Chuck Headley will be astride Bee Lee Tee. Top supporting number on the Memorial Day bill is the fifth race, also at three-quarters mile and for three-year-olds and up. James Paddocks Louisville-owned Al-phara, who is to be ridden in the sprint by Eldon Coffman, may be the choice over seven shifty rivals. In the band named to oppose Alphara are R. A. Post time for the initial offering will be 2:00 p.m.
