Mutryn Wont Join Eagles; Wants to Play for Browns CLEVELAND, Ohio, May 29 UP. — Halfback Chet Mutryn, declared a free agent when the Baltimore Colts professional football team folded last season, said today he would refuse to report to the Philadelphia Eagles, which drafted him last season. Instead, Mutryn said, he would ask that his contract be transferred to the Cleveland Browns so he can remain in his home town with his wife and family. "I will not leave town again," Mutryn said, "and it would cost too much to live away from home." Mutryn, who played with the Buffalo Bills in the old All-America Conference for four years, is 30 years old and weighs 170 pounds. It was believed here that Philadelphia will agree to his release if the Browns, champions of the National Football League, trade end Mac Speedie to the Eagles. Speedie is well past the 30-year mark and was one of the players coach Paul Brown referred to last fall when he said some of his players were "over the hill."
