PRINCE DARE, unhurried when slow to settle into best stride, moved readily from the head of the stretch and wore down MOBY DICK. The latter assumed a clear lead in the early stretch, but was not good enough. G-TWO was always prominent, but could not menace the top pair in the late stages. SLIM engaged the leader on the turn and faltered badly. FROSTY WHIRL broke alertly, displayed good speed and quit. GHIBLI was through early. STAR OF PERSIA set the pace for more than a-half mile, stayed with CONTY BAY on the final turn, then weakened. ANDRE, within striking distance while in a precarious position after ,a half mile, gave way in the drive. STAGESTRUCK was outrun for the early lead while racing wide and dropped back gradually. BLUE. The latter raced on the outside from the start and was again getting to the winner. SULEIMAN set the pace under rating to the stretch and gave way. MILLDALE lacked a rally when set down. MONACOAN, .hard held while racing along the inside, responded well when taken out for the final drive and gained a narrow decision over HIGH DESCENT. The latter moved boldly to attain command nearing the stretch, raced, extremely wide, then came again to be wearing down the winner. MISS LYRIC closed well while, between horses during the. drive. BLENMINT dueled for the early lead, disposed of LEFTY CLARKE, was again displaced nearing, the stretch, was left with a commanding lead when HIGH DESCENT went out, then was not good enough.
