9,000 Come by Subway SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., May 31.— The rapid transit subway trains, making a 10 -minute run from Downtown Boston, brought 9,000 patrons to Suffolk Downs on Memorial Day when a total of 34,350, largest in three years, turned out for the days activities. Dan Lacey, in charge of the parking area, reported that 7,143 cars were parked and that 4,540 fans were transported in busses after parking their cars outside the track. Despite the large crowd on hand, the entire parking area was cleared within a half hour of the last race.
