Went wide in the stretch, but Z was racing fairly well at the finish. O BIG EYED— Recently turned in a good 5 three-eighths " workout on a slow track. * Could run a good race first time out. BUT WHY — Closed a gap from a slow be-O ginning in first start here. Figures to im- prove off that race, j STEPHENS GIRL— Calumet cast-off who Z looked pretty good in finishing second to £J Tuonine. Was gaining at the end. PLUNGER — Recently finished fast in six and one half furlongs race. Could win at - that distance or if stretched out. zd EXCELSIS — Beaten favorite who found the six and one half furlongs a trifle too far. Q Could do at three-quarters. . BELLE REVOKE — Was all over the track in last race and finished a good third. Next time may be it. CHIEF OSCEOLA— Still looking for them to send this one a" mile and an eighth. Drops far out of it but finishes with a rush. McGRATHIANA — Showed good speed in making the .pace in a recent race. May. have more left for the stretch drive ,next time out. SAILS — Recently finished fast in a six-furlong affair and might favor a longer distance. DETROIT PINK GIN— Useful three-year-old in the Tamarack Stable who recently worked five-eighths in 1:01%, handily. SGT. ABE — Hard-hitting middle distance racer holds his good form and breezed three-quarters mile in 1:18. TRICOPA — Maiden two-year-old colt is due for early graduation and stepped three furlongs last week in :35%, handily. OATKA — Beaten short margin in recent mile and a furlong event and is capable of trimming same class field at like route. WITCH WAY — Sears plater raced impressively at mile and 70 yards and is due for early visit to winners circle. STROLLING MOON — Trifle short when beaten by Flying Turkey and will improve off that performance. BERN KEY— Better-than-average plater comes from well trained stable and worked three-quarters mile in 1:15%, handily. FIDDLE — Shaffer two-year-old colt finished third in Joliet Stakes. Pete Battle will find the right spot. POLLY LAMAR— Well - conformed four-year-old filly is working splendidly and stepped five-eighths in 1:01%, handily. HEAD EAST— Maiden two-year-old in the. Henry Forrest barn raced well in only local appearance and ready for brackets. LONGHORN— Scott plater moves up several lengths on "off" track and belongs with ,000 class middle distance racers. RED ROMEO— Quick three-year-old dis-, played early speed in Willow Run Purse and works are sharp. RIVER DOWNS ETERNAL BRIEF— Showed a good effort last out at Churchill Downs. RED FRANCIS— Appears to be ready for the asking. OMABERRY — Always races very well. THE BLUE HEN— Has been training well and might be hard to trim next out. CHOICE CUT— Has been turning in fast workouts. e CONQUERANT — Must disrgard his last race, can do better. ETERNAL SHORE— Is best at this oval, always earns her share of purses. BOLD POISE — Appears ready for a winning performance. NEB JR.— Is training in handy fashion. DARK FILANTE— Still holds his excellent form. FOX MAN— Is in good hands *and should score soon. DELAWARE PARK PUPPET — Excellent morning moves indicate this one is ready for his initial victory of the year. GOODWILLOW— Brief period of freshening seems to have helped this three-year-old considerably. CEHSTNUT CROSS— Five furlongs from the barrier in 1:01, handily, indicates this youngster will be ready for an early outing. SQUARE CUT— Speed trial from the barrier the other morning assures fitness for an early outing. BOUGENT— Not too much class with this plater, but recent morning moves assure present fitness. BILLY CLIFTON— Early speed may hold this one in good stead when the suitable spot arises. ASCENT— Broke rather tardily on opening day and closed ground steadily. Should handle non-winners of two. ►PRINCE COLE — Impressive effort on Thursday indicated this one is ready for winning effort over ,500 claimers. BALLYMACAD — Found Laran and others a bit more than he could handle in recent effort, but many easier spots are in the near future. PRINCE CONSORT — Winning race on opening day was a corker jand a slight advancement in claiming price should prove no detriment. PRINCE DARE— Withdrawn from Christiana Stakes with a more suitable spot in View, probably against maidens. VILLAGER — Garden State claim made this one ineligible to race here last Friday but present form is excellent. SAFETY — Lacked racing room along the inside during stretch run of Wilmington .Handicap. - , BELMONT PARK FAMILY MAN— Latest effort should have brought this one to top condition for a winning performance at one mile. MAEBETA— Was second in debut and appears a worthy sort. BLUE GREEN — This juvenile, is still a trifle green, but should not be long in leaving the maiden ranks. BALTIMORE JIM— Continues to score and should increase the string at present condition. BLENREIGH — Finished impressively after a sluggish beginning in a recent appearance. FAMERA— Was a close-up third in latest outing. Began slowly and was forced to race wide. BIG TIME— Was shuffled about in the early stages of his latest outing. Appears ready for a surprise victory. SPERANZO— This ,000 claiming sprinter may have been a trifle short in latest and should improve off the effort. LOTUS EATER — This Greentree Stable-owned juvenile has been training very impressively. Could score at first asking. UPPER BOATS — An imported mare who has been working in good fashion and is nearing peak form. MARTA — Has been freshened up for a winning effort. Prefers mud. SNOW MAN — This three-year-old maiden possesses good speed and should find a field he* can handle at six furlongs over the local strip. May have needed latest outing. SUFFOLK DOWNS KEEPING POSTED — Acquitted himself handsomely winning his first start locally. Off that race must be regarded as a much better than average three-year-old. FICKLE-MAN— Turned in his best race in many weeks,, showing a good second. Appears fresh and fit since a hard campaign at Lincoln Downs. LIEUTENANT— Has been having trouble finding race room when making his usual stretch charge. Was moving strong in last when blocked, but can be relied on to produce a victory real soon. BARRE FLTNT— Raced far below his best performance last time. Has been a prominent winner locally and one that will continue to frequent the winners circle. TRICK FLIER — Encountered , top, much speed in his disappointing performance, but is one that will make amends for that beaten favorite race. Is a hard hitting trick that will continue to win more than his share. PROMPTNESS— Returned to action after a long lay-off to prove an impressive winner in ,500 company. Off that race could prove a repeater in better company. NASSAU— Was flying through the stretch in a recent sprint tightener. May be seen over a distance of ground next time out and if so, should be right on the money. MAN BAR— Was lugging in all through the stretch when beaten by the capable Balsa. Is a much better-than-average performer that may be dropped into a race for non-winners of two. EXPORT TRADE— Turned in a vastly improved performance to win by himself. Although beating ,000 opposition ran well enough to suggest he may move up ,000 in company and repeat. GREAT MORNING— Had no chance to show his best, being in close quarters for the entire trip in his recent outing. Has indicated that, he is ready for brackets and may succeed in his next appearance. HIGH HEAD — Was claimed out of his only local start after running a big second back of the four-time winner, Basis. Figures to improve off that race and win at the first asking for his new owner. HAY EDY— Is just about the most improved horse campaigning at Suffolk Downs. His - most recent effort was a corking victory in ,000 company. OMAHA PANADE — Closed with a belated rush in first start here and appears ready for improved effort at distance in excess of five furlongs. TOP VIEW— Drop in classification, is all that is required to assure victory for this shifty sprinter. FLYING TIGRESS— Talented two-year-old was forced to take complete overland route when making stretch bid last time. Tab for future score. MISS MAEDA — Encountered repeated interference in last encounter. Merits another opportunity against similar rivals. CONTENDER — Ordinary plater was impressive in local debut and appears ready for set of brackets in immediate future. MISS GRADO— Appeared a trifle short when defeated, by She Travels; That one may have served as the necessary tightener. ESTHER K.— Possesses a world of speed over a distance of ground and may forget to stop if properly rated. DE VTLLE — Comes from smartly-trained unit, which sends its charges postward fit and ready. Morning trials have been impressive. ROMANOCK— First start after a lengthy absence from actual competition was impressive. Should find field to his liking in near future. CALLOWAY K.— Two-year-old maiden has been knocking at the victory door and should not be much longer in earning graduation victory. CROSS RING— Has been slightly overmatched in recent outings. Best suited against ,000 rivals. WHAMSHIRE — Disappointed last time when installed the pronounced favoirte i in race contested over muddy strip. Needs fast track for best effort. FAIRMOUNT PARK BARBIE B— Raced as if a bit short the first time out here. Will benefit off that game try. EVIDENCE— Stumbled slightly as break came in only start here, made a strong move on outside but was used up doing it. Will be a real threat in next outing. MELLA VALENTI— Was slow to settle into best stride . in last, was closing strongly in final stages. Will improve off that race. REPARTEE— Lost a world of ground when forced to race very wide on stretch turn in last race, was challenging in last sixteenth. FULL PLATTER— Showed marked determination in last outing here. Will be a tough horse in next off that game effort. MIKE EHRET— Met with early interference in last here; made up ground when in the clear, is capable of doing much better. SALPRINCE— Closed fast in a sharp effort first time out here at this course. Will demand a lot of respect in next out over this track. HOPEFLU SAM— Is training in tip top shape here since arrival. Will be ready for a sharp effort in near future. STRIKE EM DEAD— Showed a world of early foot in last out here; should go well with cheaper class soon. VEZLARK— Comes to this track after many sharp efforts on the Chicago tracks, will go better as the meeting progresses. WHIRL HOME— Just missed the other night in a very sharp effort, will take a lot of beating off that race if placed in with the same class. BEVENTJTO— Missed narrowly in first "out "here, can do better and is bound to improve as the meeting progresses.
