Add 2,500 Grandstand Seats To Aqueduct for Coming Meet AQUEDUCT, N. Y., May 31.— An increase of 2,500 grandstand seats and parking facilities for 1,500 more automobiles was announced today by Cyrus S. Jullien, president of the Queens County Jockey Club, operators of Aqueduct. Work on the two projects is nearing completion and will be ready for the opening of the 27-day summer meeting on June 12. The added seating — first major increase at a New York track in years — is being installed in the open section at the north end of the grandstand. The seats are of the same type in-use in the other sections of the stand and afford an excellent view of the turn and the homestretch. The new seating area has already been dubbed "The Cabana Club" and should prove popular with sun-lovers, giving them an opportunity of soaking up ultra-violet rays while watching the races. For the past several weeks, track superintendent Lennie Litwak has been getting the course in shape for the coming meeting. Earlier in the spring the jumping course was plowed up on the stretches and replanted and will be in excellent shape for the hurdle and steeplechase events. The main course has been thoroughly gone over and trainers have pronounced it in excellent condition.
