Pleasanton in Readiness For Opening of Fair Season PLEASANTON, Calif., May 31.— Alterations have been completed here on a greatly enlarged mutuel plant for the forthcoming Alameda County Fair meeting, which will run for 14 days from Friday, June 20, through Saturday, July 5. Under the new arrangement, mutuel windows will extend the length of the grandstand on the ground floor, more than doubling the size of the old plant. Mutuel manager Harold F. "Mickey" Dwyer claims that under the new set-up his department can handle as much as 00,000 per day. The MacDonald race track conditioner, or "scarifier," has been put to work on the historic Pleasanton track, readying it for the inaugural.
