Leslie Younghusband -owned Valley View- Farm, sped to a well-deserved accounting here this pleasant afternoon in the Blue Larkspur Purse. The victor, a seven-year-old Sun Again -sired gelding, ridden by Willie Carstens, went under the wire with a length and one-half advantage over D. H. Wells My Night Out at the end of the one and one-sixteenth miles. Three lengths away. Mr. Bob W.. who raced coupled with the winner in the Valley View Farm, ran third, while E. A. Bi-schoffs Placer was a nose back for fourth. Six horses started in the Blue Larkspur, Herve Ragivitchs Brookwood and L. H. Thompsons Sagacity completed the field and were fifth and sixth, respectively. Favorite Timed in 1 :46 Lark Sun shouldered 119 pounds and raced the middle distance over the fast track in 1:46. The Younghusband-owned entry was a 6-to-5 choice with the crowd of more than 9.500 on hand for the midweek sport. Lark Sun was kept well back but saved ground during the run to the stretch after which Carstens busily plied his whip. After a brief tussle with Brookwood and Placer, Lark Sun put that pair away, then went on willingly enough to repulse My Night Outs final challenge. Carrolls Subah. with Johnny Ralph Adams in the irons, beat a capacity field of two-year-olds in the four and one-half furlongs third. The Mameluke -sired filly, who was making her first start, scored a front-running two lengths verdict in :5445. She was the tote choice at 8 to 5. E. K. Thomas and J. H.
