May 8.— Outclassing her rivals completely. Mrs. Solomon Zauderers Poly Hi skipped to the finish of todays 48th lunning of the 7,300 Rosedale Stakes four and a helf lengths before Elmendorfs Oil Rich, who led Peter H. B. ONeils Pekame and Brookmeade Stables Unleashed completed the small field, which was reduced by the withdrawal early this morning of Hannibals Girl. Fleet Nymph and Sabana. Favored by the crowd of 22.-189 that turned out in summery weather. Poly Hi paid .80 after stepping the five furlongs in :594.-, over a fast track. Eric Guerin rode the chestnut daughter of Polynesian — Highfortidies, by Jacopo, with complete confidence, while veteran trainer George M. Odom brought her_up to the race in fine fettle. Fourth Victory for Zauderer Miss The Rosedale was the fourth victory in six starts for Poly Hi and her first stakes victory. The triumph rewarded Mrs. Zauderer with a gross prize of 2,050, of which 75 was the nomination and starting fees. The Rosedale was also the first race in which Poly Hi had been asked to negotiate a turn, which may have, accounted for her drifting out a bit, and the first time she was not ridden by Hedley Woodhouse. who was to have piloted the scratched Sabana. Breaking a little slowly, as usual, Poly Hi had only Oil Rich behind her as they left the gate at the start of the stakes, while Unleashed charged into command, followed by Pekame, Burst OSong and Scintillation. • Actually, the field broke in precise post position order from the rail to the outside. While Unleashed continued to hold sway around the far turn. Poly Hi quickly surged up to be lapped on her, with Scintillation a close third, still farther out and Pekame being squeezed back a bit on the rail when unable to outrun the Brookmeade filly. Oil Rich was still far back at the end of the opening quarter. but» beginning to move well. Poly Hi took command when Guerin gave her her head nearing the final bend and promptly parted company with her rivals.
