Arrest Two at Old Woodbine For Forging Quinella Ticket OLD WOODBINE, Toronto, Can., June 3. 1 Three men were arrested here Friday after police said a quinella ticket was forged and passed for 26. The ticket on the race in which two horses are selected to finish first and second was bought on numbers four and six and the latter number was ingeniously changed to a "five" by rubbing out the "six," police said. Held on charges of forgery after an investigation by detectives Robert -Bamlett and Norman Hobsoh were two Maltese brothers, Joseph Xuereb, 20, of MacDonell Avenue, and Bernard Xuereb, 25, of Sor-auren Avenue. Police said after the ticket was altered by inking in the head and shoulders on the "five," it was given to Joseph Zara, Parliament Street, who was asked to cash it. Before he handed it to the cashier, Zara showed it to a retired sergeant of the police department who was at the track, asking him if the numbers were correct. He told him the ticket was good. Zara was held as a material witness.
