: Open House Purse At Suffolk Today Seven Sprinters Compete as Track Admits Fans Free of Charge, Gives Auto Away By ELI CHIAT SUFFOLK DOWNS. East Boston, Mass., June 3. In honor of its 23rd year of operation, the. Eastern Racing Association has designated tomorrow as Open House Day with all fans admitted free of charge for the nine-race program, with the additional opportunity of driving home in a brand new 1957 car. The days racing program will be highlighted by the ,000 Open House Purse, a six furlongs sprint for four -year-olds and upwards which has drawn seven capable sprinters. Tuesdays giveaway gate and car marks the third such program in recent years, apparently being the forerunner of a yearly affair. It is being done with sincere appreciation for the patronage given this track in past years when it led the other New England courses in both attendance-and mutuel handle. For the past week there have been five cars on display in the infield, and one of these will go to some lucky fan in attendance. The 4-ules are simple. There will be containers placed on all levels of the grandstand and clubhouse to receive the stubs of tickets handed patrons as they enter the course. Following the running of the fifth race, these containers will be taken to the winners circle where they will remain until the seventh race at which time the drawing will take place. Method of Drawing First, a winning number, will be drawn from the receptacle holding the tickets. This draw designates the lucky patron, who must present his part of the ticket and then becomes eligible for the draw in which the car is selected. The winning fan will then be allowed to draw from a second container holding five envelopes. This draw will determine which of the five cars, fully equipped and serviced ready to drive, will go to the winner. The final draw will see the winner leave with either a Cadillac Club coupe, Buick Riviera coupe, Oldsmobile Holiday coupe, Pontiac Cata-lina coupe or Chevrolet Bel Air four-door sedan.
