More Than 500 Thoroughbreds At Pleasanton Awaiting Meet PLEASANTON, Calif., June 3. More than 500 thoroughbreds, 85 per cent of which raced at the recent Bay Meadows meeting, are stabled at Pleasanton, awaiting the opening of the 12-day Alameda County Fair Meeting on Friday, June 21. All of the stalls at the historic Fair Grounds are occupied, with the exception of a few that are being held for runners currently at Hollywood Park. The thoroughbred overflow along with all the harness and quarter-Tiorses ready for action during the opening meeting of the summer fair circuit season will be quartered at Bay Meadows, being vanned across the San Mateo bridge on race days. Some of the Wests top trainers have their charges here preparing for the upcoming season, including a number of newcomers to the circuit.
