Hollywood Stewards Ground I. Valenzuela Take Action Pending Hearing After Arrest in Bar Room Brawl HOLLYWOOD PARK, Inglewood, Calif., June 3. Jockey Ismael "Milo" Valenzuela will be unable to accept mounts at Hollywood Park pending a hearing before that tracks board of stewards, it was reported today by Hollywood Park director of racing Wendell P. Cassidy. Cassidy stated that his investigators were checking on the details of an early morning bar room brawl that saw the crack rider and his two companions hospitalized and booked on drunk charges. Valenzuela and Ray Maldenado, 40, of 2113 Berryman Lane, Redondo Beach, and his half-brother Joe Bailon, 24, of San Diego, were treated for scalp lacerations and possible skull fractures at Georgie Street Receiving Hospital before being booked. Valenzuela, who rode Eddie Schmidt to victory in the Golden State Breeders Handicap Saturday, said that he and his companions were at the bar, located at 108th and Broadway in Southwest Los Angeles, minding their own business when the unidentified man called him a "dirty wetback" and then set upon them with a pool cue. The assailant, who escaped, was described as 45, five foot, six inches and 165 pounds. Valenzuela was suspended at Del Mar in 1955 following charges of unbecoming conduct in a border area night spot. The jockey was released into the custody of his agent, Cecil Willingham, who took him to his residence at 1206 La Brea Drive Inglewood. . .
