BARBAREBA was outrun to the stretch but came very fast in the last eighth and might have won in a few more strides. BRIGHT SAL closed some ground in the stretch. SKYLEA also made up ground. GOLDONCA went to the front early and widened on the field nearing the stretch turn while saving ground, then bore out slightly in the final eighth to seemingly bother WILL TELL, and went on to increase her margin when straightened out WILL TELL, moving on the outside of GOLDONCA, was unable to get to the front of the latter and his rider claimed foul. The claim was not allowed. ORIENNE was fairly well up to the stretch turn. FLAMING REBEL finished fairly well. PAGE LADY had some early foot Will Tell claimed by Lucky Stable, trainer N. Gonzalez. WAR KING, always within striking distance, wore down IGNITION in the stretch while racing on the outside of him and won handily. IGNITION shook off POOR JOHN after going a quarter to take a good advantage but was unable to hold the winner. GRAZAR came steadily through the stretch. JOE WILSON went evenly. POOR JOHN tired. KY. ADMIRAL was well up for a half-mile and then stopped badly. ARETE was off slowly. DONMAR was closest to the pace of WILLIE RATNER until after midstretch had been reached, then went to the front and, hustled along to the end, was not in serious danger from BILLAGAIN. The latter was always fairly well up and finished steadily, well-out from the rail. WILLIE RATNER opened up a good lead while making the pace but tired in the last eighth. OUR BOY BILL went to the front early to repulse DEB CHASER around the far turn and while no match for the winner was easily best of the others. BLACK BOUNTY raced steadily throughout.
