; Hazel Stages Appreciation Day Card Third Year in Row Free Admission to All Fans And Chance to Participate In Naming of Yearling Colt By BUD LYON HAZEL PARK, Mich., June 3. Tuesday is Appreciation Day and for the third I straight, year the- management is throwing the gates wide open with free admission for all patrons and an opportunity to participate in the naming of a yearling colt by Royal Gem II., out of the Reaping Reward mare, Reaping Time, which is to be given away to the person submitting, in the judges opinion, the winning name. Official entry blanks for the contest are to be distributed at all admission gates tomorrow and fans will then have one week in Avhich to submit a name for the colt. Last years prize filly, Regal Gesture, won by J. D. Webster, a Hazel Park school teacher, who immediately accepted ,000 for the miss, offered by the Detroit owner, T. A. Grissom, will be see in action in the third race, the event marking the racing debut of the two-year-old daughter of Pinebloom Teddys Own. Chadail Favored in Main Event The Appreciation Day Purse, a six-furlong, test for four-year-ods and older un.-der allowance conditions, is the best offering on the eight-race program and in the dash are C. and L. Limericks Mr. Busy, Mrs. Royal Firman Jr.s Roman Sword, R. C. Austins Mauverneen, Elias Bros. Makes Perfect, William Zakoors Chadail, Mrs. W. Kellers Star Marque, Amos Ride-outs Isasweetie and Wise and Simpsons Snodzie. Chadail figures to have a slight edge on this field for the five-year-old son of Pavot has the benefit of two races under his belt thus far in the meeting, finishing second to Know All in the Grosse Point Purse at six furlongs, and third to Roman Spy in the Highland Park Purse at a like distance.
