Ten Go in Jerseyville On Cahokia Downs Card Power Pal, Early Dream Each To Carry 115 in Sprint Test By J. J. HAIIN CAHOKIA DOWNS, East St. Louis, 111., June 3. The 60-program meeting of the East St. Louis Jockey Club, operators of this three-quarters mile course, will be resumed here Tuesday night following the usual "dark" Monday. The program consists of eight races and heading the racing bill is the Jerseyville Purse, a five furlongs dash for three- and four-year-olds and in which 10 are named. Several winners at the meeting are entered in the main event and numbered among those expected to go postward are such well known speedsters as Mr. Arcc, Jackie, Rocky Lou, Early Dream Miss Red-bird, Power Pal, Ls Pride, U. S. Jet, Miss Maryville and Hannaway. Under the conditions of the race Power Pal and Early Dream are topweighted at 115 pounds apiece while the weights of the others range from 110 on most of them to the lowly 102 given Hannaway. With the exception of the main event and the third race, a four furlongs sprint for maiden two-year-olds, the six other races are claiming events and includes among them two distance events. The seventh is at one mile and one-eighth over the one mile and 70 yards distance. The mile race, or seventh on the card, is one of the most interesting since eight of the nine entered have won one or more races at the meeting. Expected to clash in the middle-distance affair are Kidally, Poltroon, Gallant Answer, Reading Star, Recreation, Osage Chief, Sunny Nick, Show Bet and Woodmore. The latter is the only non-winner at this meeting. Through his three winners on the Friday night program the veteran reinsman, L. J. Colclasure went into a three-way tie for leading riding honors with James R. Vinson and Wayne Chambers but his holding a tie for -the lead did not last long. On .Saturday night Vinson won with twovof his mounts and took over undisputed first place with 18 scores for the meeting. Chambers, who departed a week ago, and Colclasure were tied with 16 apiece while apprentice Richard Loyd Barnett, an early development at this meeting, went to River Downs in Ohio after holding the reins on 15 successes. John J. Hanley follows the leaders with 13 scores.
