CHELSEA TOWN picked way between horses in the drive and closed willingly. EAT AND RUN was forced to lose ground outside the field and could not menace. KAREN GIRL found best stride when too late. The latter reached -a striking position going into the stretch but lacked the necessary response. ONE MOMENT drew off into a comfortable Jead but faltered badly -in the final eighth. FULL BROTHER lacked early speed, came from between horses into the stretch and closed with a sharp burst of speed. BLUE WAYNE weakened under pressure. GINAS PET failed to threaten. WEST shook lotfse from CRISS M. into the stretch to draw off then suddenly shortened stride in the final sixteenth and could not withstand the winner. COLONEL ED loomed a threat from the outside into the stretch, fell, back slightly in the early stretch, then came with a good burst of speed in the late yards. SCARLET LEAF wore down WINNING WINGS midway the final turn, drew off, then while drifting out the entire stretch run, held off FOXING. The latter moved strongly into the stretch from the outside, was carried out by the winner all through the final sixteenth, but could not wear him down. Jockey Richmond claimed foul against the winner, which was allowed. SCARLET LEAF was disqualified and placed second with FOXING being placed as the winner. BUCKEYELAND tried to get out on the first turn and had to be steadied, then drifted out into the stretch and lacked a rally under pressure. WINNING" WINGS gave way gradually after surrendering command. GAY STAR, within striking distance, had no response to pressure. Overweight Gay Star, 1 pound. NINTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES.
