Name Twenty-Four For Toboggan Cap Cohoes, Tick Tock, Viscount, Bumpy Road Among Eligibles For Belmonts Opening Stake JAMAICA, L. I., N. Y., May 5.— Twenty-four older horses were named today as eligibles for the 5,000 Toboggan Handicap, first of Belmont Parks impressive list of stakes events which total more than a million dollars during the impending nine-week meeting. The Toboggan, traditional opening-day stakes at the Nassau County track, is the first of 29 added-money events carded on the flat and over the jumps at the long Belmont Park meeting. The Toboggan, which will be having its 66th running this year, drew an excellent field, attracting sprinters and horses heading for longer distances. Greentree Stables Cohoes, the five-year-old Mahmound horse whose 1959 debut was so impressive at Jamaica recently, is among the latter group as a Tobboggan eligible. His true aim is the Handicap Triple Crown later in the summer, composed of the Metroplitan, Suburban and Brooklyn, all 00,000 handicaps. Run on Main Course Other recent victors entered for the Toboggan, this year to be run on the main course with the abolishment of the Widen-er straightaway, are Brookfield Farms Isendu, Paumonok Victor; Georgiana Fosters Viscount, George D. Wideners Pundit, Howell E. Jacksons Tick Tock and Mrs. Irving Gushens Bumpy Road. J. J. Brunettis Vertex is also among the Toboggan nominnees, but the five-year-old handicap star is expected to start in Saturdays 5,000 Grey Lag Handicap at Jamaica and he will undoubtedly be declared from the Tobboggan before handi-capper Frank E. Kilroe assigns weights for the sprint event Wednesday.
