Former owner and trainer Frank Russell, disposed of the stable he has been campaigning on the Windy City tracks to W. Lewis and has taken out a license to ride. The provincial government of Quebec in the interest of the improvement of the breed of horses makes the following special awards to the breeders of the first four horses to finish in the Provincial Nursery and the Quebec Kings Plates: the breeder of the winner will receive 25; the second, 5! third, 5, and fourth, 5. L. Paradise, brother of jockey Jerry Para--dise, arrived from New York with six head to campaign over the Quebec circuit. The horses of T. Vester and G. Price, in. charge of trainer J. Watt, arrived Friday, morning from Toronto. H. Gallagher sent along the two-year-olfi. Staranapale and the three-year-old Merry-Go On, from Woodbine Park. J. Cattarinichs Pestle arrived from Toronto after fulfilling his engagement in thand Breeders Stakes at that point. J. E. Hughes of Toronto registered the horses Harlem, Jolly Gal, Soliloquy and Dainty Bud. Harlem is the property of Mrs, M. Symons and the remaining three race, in the interest of Mrs. Hughes. Apprentice J. Gracie arrived from Torontd with the stable of H. Gallagher and will do. the riding for the stable at Blue Borinets
