PARSLEY, shuffled back soon after the start, gained- gradually when clear and finished resolutely. CEALLAIGH raced to the lead with a rush, but tired in the last three-sixteenths and swerved out in the final eighth. HAPPY BOLIVAR, quick to get going, raced wide throughout and also .tired badly. REIGH TETRARCH, fractious but away fast, met interference soon after the start and came with a rush in the final quarter. CONTINUITY began slowly and was far back throughout. SJNGING HEART raced to the lead on the outside befbre going a quarter, easily withstood CREOLE BIRDS, bid and, after coming away when ready in the stretch, held VACILLATE safe. The latter, well up after the opening quarter, stood a long drive gamely, but could not get to the winner. DORIS B., a strong factor throughout, was on the inside early, but came to- the outside in the stretch and closed well under strong riding. PAPER PROFITS saved ground where possible and finished with determination in a good effort. UNCLE LESS, away fast but unable to keep up, was eager to run in the stretch, where he ruined his chances of getting through by bearing to the inside. POLYPHOTE had no mishaps. IRISH WAKE quit. TRAITOR showed little. CREOLE BIRD quit badly in the stretch. OTTOMAN took command quickly, came out slightly on the stretch turn, withstood LEMONTS challenge under severe pressure and outstayed FIRST CLASS. The latter, probably, best, lost much ground and, closing boldly, was rapidly getting to the winner. LEMONT, under strong riding throughout, went to the inside in the stretch and fought it out stubbornly in the drive. BRENDARD tired slightly in the late stages. DORAN raced from far back with fine speed in the stretch. JOHNNYCAKE dropped back soon after the start, was taken back on the stretch turn and was hopelessly out of it thereafter. Won driving; second and third the same, v DUSKY DEVIL, a factor from the start and on the inside .until reaching the last threereighths, lost considerable ground when entering the stretch, gained gradually in the drive and outfinished BACK LOG in the closing strides. The latter forced the early pace, under light jestraint, raced around FLYING SAILOR gradually and held on stubbornly, but was not good enough. MOTLEY, badly outrun early, bettered his position fast on the stretch turn and stood a hard drive courageously. INFINITATE had to be taken wide sharply when EPAULET became disabled. FLYING SAILOR quit after showing good speed to the final quarter. NOAHS PRIDE had a rough trip. JENS SON was blocked on the turn. PRE WAR weakened. BIFF, going in his best form and clear while under light restraint in the first half mile, responded strongly when called upon and, drawing clear fast in the final eighth, won with something left. WISE DAUGHTER, a strong factor from the beginning, reached the front under vigorous riding in the stretch and held on well to outstay ISAIAH. The latter had speed from the beginning, dropped back while racing on the inside entering the stretch and came again after coming out. SOME POMP, given a hustling ride, raced to the inside after reaching the turn and tired slightly in the drive. BROAD MEADOWS raced well. BLUEBEARD was forced wide in the stretch and was in close quarters approaching the finish. WHERE AWAY raced wide. EVER-GOLD, away slowly, also raced wide and could not get up. BLOODROOT, close up from the beginning but forced to be eased slightly on the turn came around PRINCE SPLENDOR and CORINTO quickly in the stretch, was taken under strong restraint in the final eighth and also went out a mile and a quarter in 2:05. PRINCE SPLENDOR, on the inside throughout, failed to keep up in the stretch, but outstayed CORINTO. The latter lost much ground andtired in the last three-sixteenths. The others had no mishaps. MERRY GO ROUND, also fractious at the post, was slow to respond to urging and finished racing nicely. LISTENING continued to drop back until reaching the last five-sixteenths, raced to the inside in the final eighth and finished fast. GLODAZZ tired in the stretch. DUNDREARY was outrun.
