1 LAT0NIA TURF NOTES s J. D. Meeker will introduce a new rider to Latonia. He is 17-year-old Lo Turco, an Italian youth from New York. He can ride at ninety-five pounds. Although he has had some experience on minor tracks in the East, Lo Turco has not yet ridden a winner on a major track. The young Italian is a cousin to Sylvio Coucci, and his contract was purchased by Meeker from Red Connors. Additional horsemen who registered their charges Friday morning were W. R. Hoffman, Bi J. Eyerman, E. White, J. F. Win-scher, Rudie Varwig, A. Thomas, H. McGar-vey, J A. Brause and A. S. Lewis. Stanley J. Sharp came in with the horses 2ddy Lee and Lee Gold, while E..B. Smithy brought Whizzing D., Sedalia, Tee Swatter, and the ten-year-old Chum. - Jimmy Smith, who has several horses In" training here, has taken out a jockeys license and will ride free Jance during the meeting. He will not- take out trainer papers until his charges: are ready for racing.
