1 OMAHA TURF NOTES The large public stable of W. J. Potter, which was being looked after by Mickey Fernandez, was taken over by Potter Friday on his arrival from San Antonio. Thomas J. Carroll, field manager for the Thoroughbred Horsemens Association, was an arrival. Another trainer to arrive from Dallas was F. Haldy, who trains the Dallas Stable. The horses were being prepped by I. Cunningham during the absence of Haldy. With eighteen head already here for W. C. Goodloe, Amos Wallin is due from Kentucky Sunday with eighteen more to be raced here. The horses sent here from Dallas by Wallin are Tupper Boy, Virbit, Mo-kena, Good Looks, Urata, Shady Gate, Dallas, Congenial, Surprising, Big Thrills. Jockey E. Gilbride, absent from the saddle for nearly a year, will attempt a comeback during the meeting. He is galloping horses for Amos Wallin daily and hopes to get down to 110 pounds. The horse Mike Reynolds, recently un-sexed, the property of H. Duncan, is here in charge of W. Dulim. The three-year-old Rickety Jane is the only horse W. E. Turner has here. The filly is being trained by D. Pickett. Steve Griffin, who formerly trained a large string for A. J. Halliwell, has the lbhe filly, Natalie Mae, to sport his silks. The consistent Cordon Bleu was shipped here from San Antonio by J. Martin and is the only horse in his barn. The two-year-old filly, Miss Cutup, a daughter of Behave Yourself ,. which has not been to the races, died Friday from shipping fever, contracted on the way here from California. The horse was the property of M. T. Cox, who shipped eleven here from, the Coast. Lamporte and Attraction were the first horses registered when racing secretary Gene Bury opened his office. The horses race for fprmer jockey Dave Hurn. J. W,, McAuliffe is handling Pharenough Valise and Flaghorn for his brother, Danhyw McAuliffe purchased Flaghorn from Ton Hunt before shipping from Dallas.
