1 WASHINGTON PARK NOTES f $ - Among the more experienced and better known jockeys and apprentices ready to accept mounts at Washington Park are the following: J. Westrope, E. Arcaro, C. Lan-dolt, G. Woolf, L. Haas, J. Renick, M. Knight, E. Deperini, H. Albrecht, A. Martinez, M. Helm, J. King, C. Parvin, R. Haber, D. Cox, H. Tinker, W. Hanka, H. Grayson, C. Rollins, R. Tilden and a score or more others. The division of the E. R. Bradley stable here in charge of William Hurley numbers seventeen head, of which the three-year-old fillies Black Helen, winner of the Florida Derby, and Bloodrootare the stars. The two mentioned are named for the mile Drexel Purse at Washington Park Saturday, and a week later may carry their owners popular white and green silks in the Coaching Club American Oaks at Belmont Park. Trainer Clyde Van Dusen reports all in the main unit of Charles T. Fishers Dixi-ana stable, which he unloaded at Washington Park several days ago, in fine fettle. He has nineteen, of which nine are two-year-olds. The stables American Derby candidate, Debs Delight, is included in the string. Wayne Lewis, well known horseman and former trainer for the late Woodford F. Axton, arrived from Louisville. Before leaving Kentucky he turned over to D. T. Morris the several .horses he raced through the Churchill Downs meeting. W. J. "Buddy" Hirsch, with Mrs. Silas B. Masons Mid Victorian, A. J. Sacketts Tabi-tha and Jane D., M. Hirschs Miss Joker and Midnight Flyer, and others were belated arrivals from Louisville. R. M. Fairbanks, Indianapolis publisher and husband of Mrs. R. B. Fairbanks, owner of a large stable here, was a visitor for the opening. The Fairbanks colors were very active in the first days sport, trainer Art Goldblatt saddling Bluebeard and Infinitate for the stable. Col. M. J. Winn, president of the American Turf Association, left Chicago for La-tonia, where he will direct the thirty-seven day meeting opening at that popular old Kentucky course Saturday. Following the Churchill Downs season, Colonel Winn came to Chicago to visit his daughters. C. W. Hay was another departure for Kentucky, but he returns Monday on matters pertaining to his appointment as general manager of the Chicago Business Mens Racing Associations Hawthorne plant. His selection as manager of the west side course was reported following a meeting last Monday of the Hawthorne executive committee, composed of Albert Sabath, Charles W. Bid-will and Thomas McHale.
