TEE OFF SURPRISE WINNER Earns Head Decision Over Pestle in Vercheres Handicap, Feature of Blue Bonnets Card. MONTREAL, Que., May 25. Tee Off, carrying the purple and green stripes of L. Boyer and making his first start since the Long Branch meeting last fall, drove to a surprise victory in the Vercheres Handicap, feature offering of the second days sport rfc Blue Bonnets when he was along in time to earn a head decision over J. Cattarinichs good home-bred colt Pestle. Eldee, a recent arrival from New York and highly fancied by the patrons after setting most of the pace, landed in third place four lengths off the leading pair. L. Dandurands Leo D., also making his first start was in fourth place before Social, Omar Jones and Conventional. Another large crowd, but not up to the record breaker of the holiday, was on hand to enjoy the days sport and all races were spirited with thrilling finishes over a fast track.
