AT POST 4 minutes. Start good and slow. Won ridden out; second and third driving. NARISE, prominently placed from the beginning, followed in close pursuit of PROSY until reaching the stretch, where she raced to the front and drew away steadily thereafter. PROSY displayed good speed, disposed of HARRY BERNARD and, despite holding on well, was no match for the winner. A. OCONNELL worked his way up gradually and closed well in the last quarter mile. LADY CARROT moved up on the outside leaving the back stretch, but was unable to reach the leaders when impeded somewhat by FORCED LANDING. FORCED LANDING moved up steadily after going the first five-sixteenths and bore in through the stretch. PRINCE DANNY retired steadily after going three-eighths. Scratched 27210 Society Column, 103. PAUL JUNIOR, under slight restraint early, moved into contention with a rush after leaving the back stretch, closed stoutly and, wearing down SPITTENIMAGE, was going away at the end. SPITTENIMAGE displayed speed from the start and, despite holding on gamely, was unable to keep pace with the winner in the closing drive. SYLVIA G. forced the early pace and, while unable to improve her position under punishment, continued in determined fashion to the close. BYRDEX, restrained early, loomed up menacingly on the inside entering the stretch, but was unable to improve his position in the closing eighth. TONEY BOY was never able to gain a prominent position, but was making up some ground in the stretch. JACK SNIPE was outrun. Scratched 27613 Kai Harri, 105. Overweight Malice, 3 pounds. SMOKE MAID displayed good speed, fought it out in game fashion with SPRINGS HERE for the lead and, despite holding on stoutly, was unable to keep pace with the winner when challenged. TOOTHPICK, away slowly, improved her position gradually and managed to get up in the closing stride for third. SPRINGS HERE, closest in pursuit of the pace, tired in the last throe-sixteenths. BLUE DAY away with the leaders and steadied along back of the pace until leaving the back stretch, moved up stoutly on the inside when making his effort, wore down the leaders before reaching the stretch and held sway to the close. DEAN SWIFT, well placed, continued with good energy to the end, but was unable to match strides with the winner. THE BAILIFF, away slowly and outrun through the back stretch, closed a big gap. EBONY LADY was prominent from the start, gained a slight lead nearing the half mile post, opened up a commanding advantage after rounding the turn and, holding on in game fashion through the stretch, withstood determined opposition from MISS CAREFUL and outlasted her at the end. MISS CAREFUL avoided the carlv pace, moved up on the inside entering the stretch and, closing stoutly, was not quite good enough. BOBS BOYS gained a slight lead at the turn into the back stretch and held on well to the finish. HAPPY. HELEN was a forward factor for the first five-eighths, but was unable to keep up thereafter. SAND BABY moved to the front on the outside, fought it out for the command with XANDRA and, despite holding on well under punishment,-was unable to stave off the bid of the winnpr. XANDRA was in the forefront throughout, though faltering slightly through the stretch. GENEVA CROSS was never able to reach the leaders. MISS JONES outran her field from the start, was steadied along in front, but was no match for the winner when challenged. SANDY BOY, restrained while racing well placed, moved up on the outside to challenge for the lead, but was not good enough and tired through the stretch run. POCKET PIECE made a game bid to reach the lead early and faltered in the final half mile. DISCOURSE, unruly at the post, was away poorly and raced far back throughout. Scratched 27963 Undulate, 115.
