GOSUM, away well and never far back, slipped through on the inside on the turn, quickly opened up a ! good lead after coming around WOODBERRY in the stretch and, allowed to ease himself in the final eighth, jwas in some danger in the very late stages. SIAM, away slowly and badly outrun to the Final quarter, came vith a great rush thereafter. VIAJERO, fractious at the post but away fast, showed a good effort. GERALD, away very slowly, also raced well. WOODBERRY had speed under hustling tactics, but quit badly. PRUM did not keep up. Scratched 27120 Mt. Sard, 118. SECOND RACE 3-4 3HLE. TRANSPORT, much the best and showing sprcd from the start, easily shook off POMPARAGON after reaching the turn and, continuing well after opening up a clear margin when entering the stretch, won with . something left. POLLY E., a strong factor from the start and under vigorous urging after three-eighths, held on well. MARS PALATINE, forced to lose some ground, held on with determination while stalling off HIP BOOTS in the drive. The latter raced well. GOLDEN X. began slowly. PREFERRED was also slow to begin. Winner entered to be claimed for ,000. I WENT TO PO.ST 3:18. AT POST 3 minutes. Start good and slow. Won handily; second and third the same. OGEE, much the best and taken back on the turn, bore to the inside when moving up rapidly after reaching the stretch and swerved out when drawing clear without need of strong urging in the last seventy yards. NIGHT FLOWER, away slowly and unable to get through on the far turn, came out in the stretch and, closing strongly, wore down POMPOUS GENIE in the final strides. The latter, a factor from the start and forced to lose much ground on the turn, rallied mildly under pressure in the stretch, but tired near the end. SPICKEEN made the early pace under restraint, but tired after having increased his margin in the stretch. ATTAUQUECHEE closed fast. SANTERNO. slow to begin and far back for a half mile, came with improved speed thereafter and won handily CENTENNIAL, eased back when in close quarters early and "under strong restraint on the turn, came around: the Ipadcrs in hc sketch,, but could not withstand the winner. EVENING GOWN,- quick to begin but unable to keep up on the turn, came again and with determination in the stretch, only to falter near the end. IRISH WAKE had speed, but was much used to race, PRINCE JOHN into submission and faltered when the real test Tame. PRINCE JOHN also tired in the drive. PEGGYS PEGGY had no mishaps. CAPT. CAL, forced back in the first quarter, bore out badly on the stretch turn and closed strongly in a fine effort, though failing to menace the winner. REMINISCENT, in hand early and saving much ground, held on well. FOYOT displayed fine speed for a half mile, then tired badly. ILLLEANNA was forced back early. LEE LAFFOON, placed on the outside at the start and forced to lose much -ground, improved her position gradually and overtook MISS SAXON before reaching the last sixteenth, but was ridden out. The latter, under" strong restraint for five-eighths, raced into a good lead gradually and held on well,but was not good enough. BOOMS PAL, badly outrun early and forced very wide on the stretch turn, closed with a rush. MAD FRUMP moved up fast in the last quarter, but tired near the end. WAGWOOD finished well. BALLY WISE, saved much ground and had no mishaps. LADY FEDERAL forced the pace under light urging and tired in the stretch. JULIA GRANT was in a contending position when blocked on the stretch turn. JOE, never far back and raced very wide the final five-eighths, was under strong pressure the last three-eighths and outstayed TWO SONS. The latter, also close up from the- start, swerved out when racing into a short lead in the stretch, failed to hold the winner and pulled up a trifle lame. CERVEZA, reserved off the pace and saving ground throughout, closed well, but failed to get up. OUR PRINCE tired in the drive. SHOW BOY raced evenly. MY GEM showed mild early speed. UNCOMMON GOLD, under steadying" reserve while racing well up and on the inside throughout, took command in the stretch, then stood a long drive gamely entering the stretch, closed resolutely and was wearing down the winner. HOJJR ZEV moved up stoutly after half a mile and closed gamely. MR. MARVEL set the pace under restraint but tired in the late stages. MISS TWINKLE quit. DONAU was outrun. CABLEGRAM quit.
