THISTLE DOWN BOOKS ISSUED First Edition Distributed Among Horsemen at Detroit Test Stakes First Feature. DETROIT, Mich., June 22. The first edition of the conditions books for the Thistle Down meeting, which gets under way Tuesday, July 7, were distributed among the horsemen today. The book is the work of Charles F. Henry, who will serve as racing secretary. It also includes nomination blanks for the six stakes to be offered during the thirty-five day meeting. The first of the features is the Test for three-year-olds and carrying a ,500 added value. It will be run Saturday, July 11, and over one mile and one-sixteenth. The next stake is the Buckeye Handicap, also endowed with ,500 in added money and will be run the following Saturday. The Forest City for two-year-olds; the Cleveland Handicap for three-year-olds and upward; the Shaker Handicap for two-year-olds and the Au Revoir Handicap for three-year-olds and upward will be run on succeeding Saturdays. A sprint handicap for three-year-olds and upward and at six furlongs will feature the opening days program. Nominations for the race close Saturday, July 4, and entries and acceptances on Monday.
