FRASCATI followed the pace of BESS TAM under restraint,- came stoutly in the stretch and got up in the last strides. BESS TAM, quickest at the start under improved handling, set a good pace and was going gamely at the end. ROYAL SHOOT, breaking slowly, moved into contention with a rush, but could not improve his position in the drive. GAYETTE could never improve its position under weak handling. SHEATHE trailed the field to the turn, moved up on the outside and was going well at the end. NO DUST lost ground steadily. The others were never dangerous. LOOKOUT BOYS, never far from the leaders, moved up fast rounding the turn and was going away all through the last eighth. UNCLE JULY, lacking speed to keep up, came very fast on the outside at the turn and closed much ground in the last eighth. SIGHTING BAR. in close quarters, made up some ground when clear. EDDIE C. had no excuses. ROYAL BALLAD, also in close quarters, could never threaten. PAGEANTRY ran a dull race and can do better. LETS PLAY had speed for a half mile. CHESSIE took command at the far turn, saved ground at all times, but tired right at the end. MANUAL showed good early speed, but tired when the real test came. STIPULATE, away slowly, closed some ground in the late stages. ARGOAN, well up most of the time, tired badly through the last sixteenth. JUDGE PEAK had no excuses. DARK WAR took a brief lead after the start, only to tire thereafter. LONG COUNT could never keep up. GOLDEN KEY, well up the first quarter, dropped out of contention and finished last.
