I DUFFERIN PARK NOTES ; Mrs. Emmet Potts, wife of the trainer for the Bomar Stable, accompanied by Richard Dickman, agent for the Michigan-owned stable, passed through Toronto en route to Ottawa, where Mrs. Potts will spend a few days with her mother. Syenite, the property of Mrs. B. Comiskey, has suffered a high bow and will not be able to race again. The horse, which is six years old, is by Rock Star and Stefally and is for sale for "breeding purposes. Ernie Claridge is acting as agent for the stable of E. F. Seagram and jockey Eugene Burns during the absence of Cliff Wensley, who is with the main division of the stable at Detroit. The apprentice allowance was waived on Mrs. H. M. Stewarts Ardawn in Mondays fourth race, and the mare carried 106 pounds. Horsemen at Dufferin Park have received the following notice: "Any owner or trainer entering a horse in a race to which it is not eligible to get on the preferred list will be fined 5 by the stewards." W. Burrill was the successful bidder on the mare Stirred Up, which was sold at t auction in the Dufferin Park paddock Monday morning. Burrills bid was ?310. Arthur Brent, trainer for Erindale Stable, reports that despite all efforts to save the plater Khaki John, the injuries he received-while racing at Long Branch are too serious to respond to treatment, and the animal will have to be destroyed. Johnny Hynes, former trainer for the Thorncliffc Stable and the Wilkinson stable of New Orleans, was a visitor at Dufferin Park Monday. Several horses in the J. E. Smallman stable, concentrated at Long Branch, are on the ailing list, according to reports received from the Lake Shore track. Six horses of the Conny Smythe stable were shipped to Detroit to finish out the meeting at the border track. Sackful, a two-year-old, was left at Dufferin Park in care of H. Gallagher to be raced here. Jockey G. Atkins has been granted permission to remain at Dufferin Park by C. Smythe. The lad will report to Smythe when his services are needed. R. W. Crashley came down from his home in Beaverton to handle the preliminary work I attached to the management of the mutuels department at the forthcoming meeting at Devonshire Park.
