The five and a half furlongs of the Hyde Park will provide an advance line on the candidates for the Futurity, to be run three weeks later. In its own right the Hyde. Warren Wright has five Calumet Stable youngsters in the list, Gosum, Gallant Eagle, Bomber, Nevertire and Privileged. E. D. Shaffer has named the highly regarded Prairie Dog, a strapping son of Bull Dog and Fairy Eyes. Mrs. John D. Hertz, mistress of Leona Farm, will have a strong sentimental interest in the race with the nomination of Count Gallahad, a fine looking son of Anita Peabody, the queen of the Hertz establishment. Count Gallahad is a product of the mating of the 1927 Futurity winner and Sir Gallahad HI. Other notable nominations to the Hyde Park Stakes are. the Hal Price Headley quartet, including the stake winning Apogee; four from the Brookmeade Stable, including Knight Gallant; the Tranquillity Farms Challite, winner of the St. Clair Stakes, and J.
