JUVENILE RACE MAIN EVENT Platers Compete in Majority of Races at Aqueduct. Speed Gets Best of Start and Holds Lead Throughout to Win Easily Poly-whisk Finishes Third. NEW YORK, N. Y., June 22 No feature was offered by the Queens County Jockey Club at Aqueduct today and the best field was one of juveniles, in which Regal Lily, a Man o War miss, was winner for Walter M. Jeffords in easy fashion. Platers for the most part made up the remainder of the card, but a big crowd was out and there was abundant entertainment even though not much class was shown during the day. The offering that had the natural feature position on the program was a mile and one-sixteenth race, devoted to cheap ones, and it was marred somewhat when the bandages worn by Judges Verdict, the choice, became loose, to handicap him. The race was also marred by a bad start, in which Hugh W. Jacksons Speed, the winner, had a big advantage, and Shining Sun, which was second for Mrs. C. Oliver Iselin, was also away in motion to race second all the way. Seabo made excellent use of his flying start when he took Speed out three lengths before the others in the first furlong. There he took hold of the son of Flight of Time and rated him along at a pace to hold his advantage. Shining Sun was closely followed by Chance Light, but that one did not last long and for the remainder of the journey he was not bothered for second. As Chance Light tired Polywhisk moved up to hold third place, and he was beaten a length and one-half for second place. There was an excuse for Judges Verdict in his loose bandage, and Waster was away badly, as were Kearsarge and Whichaway. The latter was in close quarters all through the contest. There came a surprise in the opening five furlongs dash, for juvenile platers, when little George Habeeb, riding his second race, brought Debate home the winner for I. J. Collins. C. H. Knebelkamps High Mabel, the favorite, took the place, with Mrs. Roy Carruthers Schoolmom taking third from Gumption. Post positions for this dash over the straight course played a part in the result, for Debate, which was neglected in the market, left from No. 2 stall, while High Mabel had the outside position in the field of eleven. Walter M. Jeffords Regal Lily, a chestnut daughter of Man o War and Regal Lady, proved easily best of the juveniles that raced in the fourth. She had raced twice at Pim-lico in her only other appearances. Joseph E. Wideners Handle Cross, a big gelded son of Haste, took the place and third was the portion of Miquelot, which raced for the Sanford Stud Farms Stable. While the win margin was only a length, the filly was under restraint and Richards could have made it a wider margin readily. At the end of the card there was another mile race for the cheapest horses at the course, and seven went to the post. This saw A. A. Baronis Yonkel first home before Mrs. .Ethel D. Jacobs Espinaca, with Clien-telle third before the favorite, Distracting, after a race that was marked by much rough riding. After the finish Hanford, who rode Espinaca, which had been interfered with by Yonkel, claimed foul, but after a considerable delay the order of the finish was not disturbed.
