KEENELAND TURF NOTES it 5 Blanks for the Illinois Derby reached here and were distributed to owners, who contemplate sending representatives in the major stakes number on the Fox Valley Jockey Clubs 1938 program at Aurora. Dave Wilson, agent for Albert Robertson, reported that the Milky Way Farms contract rider will commute between Lexington and Louisville and ride at Keeneland throughout the season. The Tall Trees horses, which went in to. a ditch en route from Louisville a few days ago, are not so seriously injured as was at first believed, according to trainer Lee ODonnell, and he is hopeful of having several of his charges under colors at Keeneland. Bruises and scratches were the full extent of the injuries. H. M. Walker, Louisville breeder has Ada W., For Romance, and the two-year-old bay filly Mary Darling at the Fair Grounds in care- of trainer William Dorsey. Mary Darling, which has never been to the post, is a half sister of Ada W., and is by King Nadi, Viola Elliott. Unable to secure sufficient stable accommodations, Dorsey left Jimmy W. and Rothby at Churchill Downs. John Muth is purchasing horses for the Mexican government. Muth has secured five head and is dickering for the sale of one more before shipping the thoroughbreds to; Mexico. The three-horse stable of Charles Sanborn found quarters at the Fair Grounds. Lady Saxon is the only older horse Sanborn has at this time. He is prepping two unnamed two-year-olds for racing later In the year. The veteran trotting horse trainer, Hunter C. Moody, is conditioning Bottle Cap, Mower, Rye Beach, School Books, Miss Chancery, The Shooter and Savernake for the Mills-dale Stable. The horses are at the Lexington Fair Grounds in the Moody private barn. Frank Podesta has at the Fair Grounds in. charge of Jerome Tyrus, Red Meagen, Jane Sweep All, Rolls Wind and Nonconna. The quartet arrived here recently from Hot Springs. Keene Daingerfield, Jr., moved Glint and two two-year-olds to the Fair Grounds Tuesday, Daingerfield has five horses in training at Keeneland and is expecting Gene Wagers from Miami. J. W. Johnston has in training at the Fair Grounds Anna V. L., and Two Brooms for Mrs. M. B. Etzler and I. Coburg, which he is training for his wife. Buddy Berry, without horses at the present time is a daily visitor at Keeneland and the Fair Grounds. Berry is negotiating for two horses and will probably close the deal in a few days. The stable of racers that Ed Haughton will campaign in the colors of his wife, at Keeneland includes the following: Bustle, Sadie F. Rough Diamond, Grey Simon, Glas-by, Cruising, Barbara S., Drombo, Hunterdon, Down in Front, Good Soldier, and he is also training Fairest Flag for Paul McAfee. Jockeys Leslie Pichon and Glenn Fowler are additions to the ever-increasing riding colony. Pichon came from New Orleans where he rested up following the close of the Fair Grounds season, and Fowler came from hisr home in Covington, Ky. Benny Creech, who already has a division of Mrs. A. M. Creechs stable at the Fox Valley Jockey Clubs track at Aurora, plans to divide the band that he has at Keeneland at the close of the meeting, sending some to Aurora and others to Churchill Downs. Sir Ally is a candidate for the Kentucky Derby. Patrol judge Willie Davis was an arrival from Florida where, he served in a similar capacity during the recent Hialeah Park meeting, put in his appearance at the track today. Apprentice Martin Bletzacker is attached to the stable of Mrs. N. J. Scallon and will be seen in colors at Keeneland. Amateur riders will have an opportunity to display their ability at Keeneland, April 22. The sixth race in the condition book is for four-year-olds and upward at a mile and a sixteenth with only amateur reins-men eligible to ride. Ten head, all of which are veteran racers, make up the Snowflake stable, in charge of P. J. Van, which arrived here from Hot Springs. In the lot are the former crack sprinter Money Getter, Hazel Eye, Dominant Darby, Phil Boy, Zebulo, Larry M., Kendal Green, Royal Command, Irish Play and Black Sergeant. Mrs.. Raymond R. Russell, whose husband owns Alamo Downs, at San Antonio, was an arrival from Hot Springs. Mrs. Russell has the two-year-old El Juez here in charge of i l trainer A. M. Jacobus.
