TOWNSEND PARDON SOUGHT WASHINGTON, D. C, April 14. President Roosevelt has been asked by Senator McAdoo of California to pardon Dr. Francis E. Town-send, old-age pension proponent, who faces a thirty-day jail sentence for contempt of a committee of the House of Representatives.
