STRAUS SILKS REAPPEAR LEXINGTON, Ky., April 14. The blue, white, black and red colors of the late Charles Straus were seen in competition for the first time in many years when Whicha-way carried them in the seventh race today. They are the property of Davis Straus, a nephew and prominent Cincinnati merchant. In their heydey, the Straus colors were carried by Raincoat, Heinie, Raider and other renowned performers. The Charles Straus horses were trained by Howard Oots and Howard Wells, a nephew of Oots is conditioning Whichaway. Straus plans on purchasing several more horses. He bought Whichaway out of the dispersal sale of the C. E. Hamilton horses which was held at Hialeah.
