SANDY BILL outran his field from the start, was taken under slight restraint while saving ground, and held his opposition safe to the finish. BILLIE BANE was outrun the first part, came to the outside entering the stretch, finished well, but could not menace the winner. THAT ONE, in nearest pursuit of the pace from the start, had no mishaps. QUASIMODO gained slowly under urging. TOBY TYLER could not keep up under urging. AT POST— 1 minute. Start goo 1 and slow. Won easily; second and third driving. REDSHANK jumped well and clear of interference at any stage, moved up with determination nearing the final fence and drew away at the end. APPLE FOOL, jumped well and under stout restraint the first turn of the field, improved his position steadily and finished with determination. SPINACH jumped well while being rated along, moved into command going to the eleventh fence, assumed an easy lead, but was bothered by the riderless FLYING FEATHERS and carried in all through the final eighth. EDITEUR was slow to begin but made up some ground over tired horses. CLONARD was going strong when blocked by the riderless FLYING FEATHERS at the ninth jump and was forced to take up. SENOIA showed a flash of early speed. SYDNEY showed speed but tired badly. NAVARIN moved into command nearing the end of the first turn of the field and then tired. SWEET PATRICE handled her weight well and showed speed from the start, responded when urged, shook off MODEST QUEEN and held PROSPECTUS safe to the end. The latter was eased back, and, steered to the outside after the start, was placed under severe pressure in the final eighth, and finished with eood courage. JACK HORNER was slow to begin in the early stages, responded when called upon and finished with determination. MODEST QUEEN, in nearest pursuit of the early pace, quit at the end. . HIGH BLAME and HORSEPOWER bumped at the start, but recovered quickly, then could not menace the leaders. EPWAR raced greenly throughout. Scratched— 57390 To Town, 113. JACAROO moved into contention with a rush and then hung. WHITE TOPPER raced well. T. M. DORSETT could not menace the leaders. SPANISH JEAN began slowly. OKLAB raced evenly throughout. SUMMED wa- kept close to the early pace, but faltered suddenly in the stretch run. KNIGHTS HAVEN was on the inside all the way and could not maintain his position. FRAIDY CAT lacked speed. SUNANAIR, close up under restraint in the early running, could not gain on the leaders when placed under pressure. STOCKS was outrun from the start.
