1 LINCOLN FIELDS TURF NOTES | s $ Expected here in a few days is jockey Irving Anderson, who is under engagement to the Calumet Farm stable of Warren Wright. Calumet Farm will have the largest stable on the grounds. Recent rains here have been very beneficial to the racing strip at Lincoln Fields and it should be in perfect condition for the opening, if the weather is favorable. New sand and loam were added to the surface last fall to maintain it as one of the best in the country. A newcomer to Lincoln Fields this season will be the stable of Mrs. W. S. Billings, of Oklahoma, who acquired a modest string at Churchill Downs. Her colors will be carried here by Boos Double, Julia Do, Bess Waterflag and Sis Waterflag. Frank P. Letellier, New Orleans horseman, has made reservations for sixteen head to be campaigned through the Lincoln Fields season. Besides his own racing material, Letellier wil have Tureen, Steel Heels, Drifting Home, Legal Advice and Plucky Byrd for J. W. Bell and Powers Gouraud for L. j Kay. The horses the New Orleanian has I registered for his own account are Southland Beau, Billbo, Squaw Lady, Buttons B., Flying Doll, Back Chat, Chubbins, Chief Men-teur, Boy Valet, and Southland Gem. Jockey Charles Rollins, who is one of the leading older riders at Churchill Downs, will be here to ride for the Letellier stable. L. C. Boganschutz will be here Monday to open the secretarys office and horsemen have been urged to file their stable and badge registrations as soon as possible. H. H. Fausett expects to have N. P. Woodsons crack sprinter, Leading Article, ready for racing early in the local season. Leading Article, one of the stars of the winter and spring racing at New- Orleans and Oaklawn, is expected to prove a formidable candidate for local sprint honors. He has been made eligible for several stakes to be run here. The horses which C. H. Ferguson will have here are Josh, Shining Heels, Epidore, Steady Don, Dock Jock, Santa Luna and Palco.
