j HAWTHORNE-SPORTSMANS TOTALIZATORS Charles W. Bidwill, Charles Krutckoff and Edward OHare, owners and presidents of the Hawthorne and Sportsmans Park tracks, signed contracts J Thursday with the American Totalizator Company for the installation of that companys electrical device at the neighboring tracks in Stickney Township. Work is to begin immediately at Hawthorne and the crew which installs the device there will then move over the Illinois Central tracks to install the second "tote" at Sportsmans Park. The signing of these contracts means Chicagos race tracks, down to popular little Sportsmans Park, are the most completely equipped and most up-to-date tracks in the country. Every modern device used in racing today is i standard equipment at Windy City courses: Cameras for photo finishes, projection screens for enlargements, J loud speakers and electric "totes." i
