COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 19.— Much interest is being shown in the forthcoming meeting of running races at Ascot Park, May 28 to June 18, inclusive, by the horsemen now campaigning their stables at Beulah Park. The Ascot meeting "dovetails the Beulah session, which closes on Memorial Day. Condition books for Ascot are now being distributed at Beulah. Purses will range in value from 00 to 00. The Inaugural Handicap, feature event of the opening day, will be at six and one-half furlongs for a 00 purse. The feature for Monday, May 30, will be the Memorial Day Handicap at one mile and a sixteenth, also for a purse of 00. WILL SHIP TO LANCASTER. After the Ascot meeting many horsemen are planning to ship to Lancaster, Ohio, for the eight-day meeting from June 25 to July 4, inclusive. Dates for Beulahs fall meet- ing are from September 3 to 24, inclusive. Ascot Park is located on the Cleveland-Akron Highway No. 8 and the meeting opening on May 28 will mark a revival of racing there. Already at Beulah a number of stables have applied for Ascot stall space. An ac-tual count reveals that the stable applications include 290 horses. In addition, stables also are planning to ship to Ascot from Churchill Downs, Aurora, River Downs and 1 other points.
